Chrysler Extends PHEV Pick-up Test
Chrysler Group working in joint venture with the DOE (U.S. Department of Energy) has sent fourteen Ram 1500 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) pick-up truck for manual testing in Sacramento and San Francisco.
This is treated as a part of 3-year national demonstration project, which is more likely to include 140 such PHEV’s. During this testing procedure, they will be concentrating on following important factors that include customer usage, charging, drive cycles, thermal management, effect of these vehicles on region’s electric grid, and fuel economy rating.
In addition to Sacramento and San Francisco, ten-other partners units across the United States are also scheduled to take delivery of vehicle modes for testing and demonstration purposes.
The carmaker also said that in future it will develop an identical group of twenty-five Town and Country Minivan editions equipped with advanced plug-in hybrid technology for evaluation and demonstration.
