In the 2009 Chrysler Aspen model, Hybrid gas and electric power systems join up in the line for providing the reduced emissions and the fuel economy to push the limit on Hybrid SUV expectations.

The Chrysler Aspen was first released in the year 2006 as a vehicle for the model year 2007. It falls under the category of full-sized SUV model. The vehicle was produced by the Daimler Chrysler in the year 2007 and later by the Chrysler during the period 2008 to 2009. The vehicle has its assembly plant at Newark, Delaware in United States of America. The variant is built based on the body style of the five door SUV design. The Aspen SUV is equipped with the front engine, provided either the four wheel drive or the rear wheel drive. The Chrysler Aspen is related to the Dodge Durango model.

2007 Chrysler Aspen Cloudy

First Generation Aspen (2006-2007)

The model released in the year 2006 shared most of the features with the Dodge Durango model in terms of the engine, suspension and the platform. The model offered 4.7 liter V8 engine that produce 235 horse power of energy and torque of 300 pound feet and top line models offered Hemi V8 5.7 liter engine that produces maximum tow capacity of 8950 pounds. Both the engines offered a 5-speed automatic transmission and can be allowed to equip with either the four wheel drive or the two wheel drive.
The model was released with the more revised shocks, springs, bushings, mirrors, door seals and also side glass to keep the vibration and the noise down. In order to show the difference between the Durango and the Aspen models, the designers made changes in the exterior region like the chrome grille, 20 inch wheels as optional and hood similar to that of in the Crossfire Coupe from the Chrysler group.

The upgrades to the interior region are very minimum, steering wheel, wood trims on doors and the dishboard. The metallic trim to the vehicle brightens the guage cluster, door handles and the steering wheel. The DVD entertainment system to the vehicle is provided as optional along with the rear seat entertainment system and the backup protection system.

Second Generation Aspen (2008)

The Aspen released in 2008 got a more powerful engine with the V8 powertrain.It was provided with 4.7 liter V8 engine that produces 303 horse power of energy, an increase of 68 hp when compared with the previous model. The only transmission provided to the vehicle is the five-speed automatic and has maximum towing capacity of 8900 lb.


The safety features in the vehicle include front side air bags, curtain side air bags, traction control system, anti skid system and the ABS. Options to the vehicle include the power liftgate, DVD entertainment system, navigation system and rear obstacle detection system.

Third Generation Model (2009)


The 2009 Chrysler Aspen was released in two different trim levels, limited 4×2 and the limited 4×4 models. The Aspen model is a traditional sport utility model capable of towing substantial loads.

The 2009 Aspen is similar to GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe and the Ford Expedition models but has more luxury facilities in the vehicle.
